🏁 Rally School NZ – Learn to Drive Like a Pro
Start your rally career with our Motorsport NZ-accredited Rally School – the perfect launchpad into competitive rallying.
Whether you're a complete beginner or have a rally car waiting in the garage, this hands-on, two-day course gives you the skills, knowledge, and seat time you need to earn your Motorsport NZ Rally Licence and build real driving confidence.
Train with experienced instructors, drive both 2WD and 4WD Mitsubishi rally cars, and take on real rally conditions at our Maramarua Forest gravel stage.
🎓 What You'll Learn:
Over the course of two adrenaline-filled days, you'll cover both theory and practical components of rally driving, including:
📅 Day One – Waerenga Training Facility (10 mins from Maramarua)
🕙 10am – 3pm
🚗 Morning: Classroom Theory

Basic vehicle preparation

Rally navigation and pace notes

Driving techniques and control
🏁 Afternoon: Hands-On Driving

Grass Motorkhana and Autocross driving

Touring stage practice

Real-world car handling in a safe environment
🌲 Day Two – Maramarua Forest Gravel Stage
🕘 9am – 3pm

Drive a rally car on a real 5km forest gravel rally stage

Complete 6 runs with instructor coaching

Tackle mixed surfaces: fast-flowing straights & tight technical corners

End the day with a high-speed hot lap as a passenger with your instructor at full rally pace!

Who Can Attend:

Drivers aged 15 and over

Participants under 18 require written parental consent

All participants are required to sign an indemnity form before taking part.

No previous rally or motorsport experience necessary

Manual driving experience is helpful but not required

"What an amazing bunch of human beings. My 15yo son attended the school over two days and loved every minute! The location was amazing, but take an umbrella rain or shine, the sun can be brutal out there. The Rally course is amazing, the instructors next level and the overall experience was brilliant. To get the most out of the 2 days and to be honest, just to n general, I would recommend learning how to drive a manual, there are no automatic cars and at some stage you will need this skill on or off road. In closing, whether you are going to try you hand at rally, want to improve your driving skill or just want to experience it, I cannot recommend it highly enough!"

"15/10, will definitely go again. What a day. What a LIFE EXPERIENCE! Any apprehension I felt was swiftly sent out the window as quickly as my peals of laughter in the first lap. Sam and Emma are extremely competent, calm, down-to-earth and straightforward. I showed up for the 3 lap, you-drive-while-someone-tells-you-what-to-do-and-when and let me tell you, my cheeks were sore for DAYS from smiling with joy. Emma is helpful, knowledgeable, and definitely used to herding cats - she did a fantastic job accommodating various shades of unanticipated nonsense on the day. Sam is an excellent instructor. Fun but no nonsense, gave clear guidance and definitely was not phoning it in - I made progress from lap to lap thanks to his instruction and patience; I wasn't just being told to "drive on a dirt road". I'll be looking to book more experiences here to build on those skills to work my way up further. Genuinely, truly so excited to go back and learn more. My tips: bring lots of water and something to keep your blood sugar up [though they have snacks!], listen to the instructions you're given, leave any self-expectations at the door no matter HOW competent you think you are and no matter how much time you've spent in your Sim rig or how many track days at Hampton Downs you've been to - these people just know better than you do. Go with the flow, do as you're told, and you'll have the most AMAZING time. Thank you so, so much, gang. See you again soon!!!"
